The Timberline Motel is a string
of vintage cabins nestled against a hillside of orchards. The property also includes a 1940's farmhouse and a Cafe
Cabin. The cabins are named for trees native to the Okanogan valley; Juniper, Fir, Cypress, Hemlock, Cedar and Pine.
All cabins have bathrooms, showers, televisions, beds (one or two), and some have kitchen tables and chairs, microwaves, refrigerators
and kitchenettes. See table below for specifics.
What are the cabins like?

The cabins are set back from the road and yet are steps from the Wenatchee River. Many guests like to walk
along the bridge that stretches across the river, right in front of the Timberline's property. The river's water
is so clear that it is easy to see salmon spawning in the water just under the bridge. It is also easy for guests to
take their inner-tube and be floating in the river within seconds of leaving their cabin.
The cabins were
built in the late 1940s and retain a cozy, simple feel. Over the years they have been upgraded to modern standards
and include remodeled bathrooms, and new pillowtop mattresses, furniture and large-screen TVs. All are decorated with
photos of the region in the 1920-40s, honoring the logging, apple farming and the railroad's presence in local commerce.
Many have oversized down comforters. All have slices of locally-made juniper berry soap in the soapdishes in the bathroom.
The cabins are simple and reflect the region's hardy, outdoor country ethic.
What's
the Farmhouse like?

The "farmhouse" was built in the 1940s and has been remodeled this year. New hardwood floors,
a huge fireplace, large-screen TV, two bedrooms and one bath make this a great rental for up to 6 people. The furniture
is brand-new, and reflects the soft greens and lush reds of the surrounding apple orchards. Each bedroom has a new queen
4 post bed, and the living room has two couches. The second couch is a loveseat, however, and would only sleep a smaller
sized person. There is a spacious kitchen equipped with pots, pans, cutlery and basic seasoning so that you may cook
dinner if you wish. A roaring fire is easy to build with the wood and kindling we provide our guests.
Biker-Friendly Motel-What does that mean?

Jay owned the (in)famous Alice's Motorcycle Shop in Woodside, California for many years. Jay
and Lizi are hard-core bike enthusiasts and together have 17 bikes in their collection. So they know that
when you travel with your motorcycle, its hard to find hotels that understand that you'd like to park your bike where
it can be watched (preferably IN ONE'S OWN ROOM (just kidding...sort of... :-)
---Our cabins are set up
so that you can park your bike RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR. We also have locked garage parking for those who are
VERY careful about where their chrome baby sleeps at night. We understand. We're that way, too. ---
SIDENOTE: In fact, the owners once camped in their bike garage one
winter while remodelling their house. Two garage bays-fourteen bikes-two cots-two humans-one bulldog-five months.
Waking up with a front tire in your face and the smell of Honda polish instead of furniture polish might make some turn up
their nose, but if you're a true enthusiast, you'd probably say "right on".
Three
other features of the Timberline round out our Biker-focused offering :
(1) onsite gas station; (2) 7
day a week motorcycle repair shop (for fixing tires, fluid levels, lost valve stems, etc.); (3) apparel shop to
replace those lost sunglasses, grab a neck warmer, or a souvenir "Timberline Motorsports" T-shirt.
We welcome clubs, too! --Last
summer we were visited by a Goldwing club, various HOG chapters, the British Bike Club and a Seattle Ducati club,
(not to mention many more who were grouped informally). We can accomodate about 25 people here if all cabins, the Farmhouse
and Cafe are used. Call for details. (509) 548-7415, ask for the owners.
One more thing:
Our location makes us a terrific destination ride! This is a great launching spot for crusiers, sport-bikers and dualsport guys as the local roads and trails are amazing.
Each of our staff members rides at least one of the three types of bikes, if not all, and we love to assist riders with finding
where to ride locally. Every summer Sunday (weather and other factors permitting), we have a Sunday Morning ride from
Timberline. Starts at 7 am, and sometimes is dualsport and sometimes is street-only. It goes for around 1-2
hours and then ends at the Timberline with a BBQ or brunch in the early afternoon. Is there a better way to spend
the day? Call us for details (509) 548-7415. Ask for the owners.
The
Onsite Market

What could be cooler than having all of your biker needs in one place? We've even got bikes in the market!
The onsite market is convenient for our guests as they can purchase beer, wine and soft drinks as well as snacks and cigarettes
without having to drive from the motel. The store is also where you'll find our motorcycle apparel shop.
The owners feel that it's much easier to relax on vacation when you've left
the news and the cell phone at home. With this in mind, telephones and cable TV are left out of the rooms. New,
larger-screen televisions are provided, however, with DVD players. There is an extensive library of videos in the market
for motel guests to borrow. Over 40 different titles (historical, action, kids, documentary, motorcycle films) ensure
that everyone's tastes are met. Movies are free for guests.
Ok, I've checked
into the motel. What should I do for fun?
Once you've checked in, our staff is ready
to assist you with figuring out what to do. There are so many different ways to enjoy Leavenworth and the surrounding area that it's helpful to talk to a local. Go to our Concierge Services for more details.

The Cafe
|
A special place for our guests - the "cafe" is not really a cafe but a hangout - a one bedroom cabin with kitchen,
bathroom, library, hangout area for playing guitar (Tyler and Jay both play) or reading in front of the warm firplace.
Huge porch with rocking chairs - sunset views are great. We sit here in the evenings and watch bald eagles pluck salmon
from the river right in front of you. Sunsets glow red over the trees. Friends are made. We show vintage
and current biker movies here (Easy Rider, The Wild One, Ghost Rider have all premiered). We also use the cabin for
overflow when the hotel is full...but we have to like you to put you here as it is full of our personal artwork collection. This is a long view of several cabins with the Cafe on the right, rear:

Policies of the House Motel reservations are final at time of reserving the room. We
charge the first night as a penalty for cancellation. Rooms are inspected after checkout. If anything
is damaged, stolen, smoking was done in the room, extra people in the room, or pets, for example - and the person who booked
the room will be charged a minimum of $100.
We have only one room that accomodates pets. Please leave them
at home or board them locally. We can suggest some local boarding options.
The owners and staff of the Timberline
reserve the right to refuse business to anyone.
Check in is 3 pm. Check out is 12 am. If you need more time or special arrangements, we are happy to try to help.
In general, there is a "quiet time" between 9pm-7am. This
is just out of respect for others. No rackin' the pipes on your Thunderheaders before breakfast!
